Surfed on Friday and Snowboarded today! CA!

Hope you had a Merry Christmas or whatever you celebrate, hope it was fun. I'm having a great holiday.... I just got back from Tahoe about two hours ago. Boarded Homewood and the snow was so good, dumped last night and part of the morning. On Christmas I surfed Santa Cruz, super sunny and the waves were great. I love California!

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Last Friday my radio station/morning show raised money for Toys for Tots so that we could buy a bunch of toys to donate for Christmas. Well thanks to so many generous Bay area people today we are going to spend 30 grand on toys that will immediately be loaded on huge Marine trucks and distributed to the families here in the Bay area that need the help. Thanks to people digging deep during a tough time a lot of kids will be stoked! Merry Christmas

I'd like to say it's really cold here as I write this because it is... I know Californians are pathetic when it comes to weather because although I'm from here, I've lived in Philly and Eugene and both places are way colder, way more often. That said, I haven't ridden in a week. Planning to get out this weekend and will for sure take pics of my next adventure. Might even load my Globe in my car and ride in Santa Cruz.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Just got back from road tripping south in a rented van to visit family, friends, surf and camp. So today after I dropped off my betty in San Jose, I dropped off all my gear(surfboards, tent, bags...) at home in San Mateo, loaded my bike and drove to SFO to return the van. This is the first time I've ridden my Globe that far and it was raining too. The ride home was about 12 miles and despite the rain and butthole drivers I had a blast. Speaking of the donkeys driving cars... the disc brakes, even in the rain, worked so good today. And the seat was really comfy too. Can't find a thing wrong with this bike, so far...

Sitting here watching Cal play Stanford and I realized I haven't been on in awhile. Ridden a ton since my last post. This bike is so fun. Super comfortable and really good looking. When ever I take it out people ask what the hell I'm riding.... If you're not into talking to people this may not be for you... since there are no logos people want to know what it is. I always send them to the web. Got a week off for Thanksgiving so I'll ride and make sure I take pics too. Later

Loooong time!

Back at the blog after a break.

Just got done setting up my snowboard for the upcoming season and I'm watching the 49ers as I write this. Planning to ride tomorrow or over the weekend depending on the surf and when I do that. Got a spot near my house called crystal lake where I usually run but I always see people biking out there... usually road bikes. I'm gonna roll my Globe. I'll take pictures.

Beach bike

Took my Globe for a ride at the beach over the weekend. I've always had cruisers and while I still like the simplicity of a beach cruiser my new Haul 2 is a better beach ride by far. Not only do I get looks and compliments every where I take it but the thin wheels and gears/internal hub make riding all day easy.... Had a blast!

testing mobile blog

Hope this works...

I have a new friend who does triathalons and she recently finished her first Iron man. I tell you that because I like to brag on her but also to establish credibility. The other night she came by and I let her ride my new Globe Haul 2. I'm going to have her blog about her experience next time I see her. Actually when I asked her to hang out again she responded... "Only because you have a cool bike".

First Ride

Welcome! Appreciate you checking out my Globe bike blog-First post! Before I get to my first ride here's my experience. I've ridden bikes my whole life, worked at my Dad's bike shop growing up(Irvine Bike Co.) and raced BMX in Orange County as a kid. I chose the Haul 2 for it's classic look and comfortable ride. It comes with fenders but I yanked those immediately... don't need 'em, other than that the bike is as it comes. I posted a photo on my facebook and my friends were quick to comment- "a classic", "pimp", "perfect", "old school", "looks like a woody bike". My first ride was thru town to the gym and I was totally bummed when I got there because I wasn't done riding and was freaked about leaving it. After a few more spins around the neighborhood, I parked, locked it up, did the gym and rode home. I love this bike! Super good looking, rides great and the disc brakes work really good for quick stops... Thank you!
